What a proper Malaysian invoice must have.

Miss one of these and your customer's accountant will chase you. Miss them post-MyInvois and LHDN will reject the document.

  • Business registration number (BRN / SSM No.)
  • TIN (once you have one — compulsory under MyInvois)

Is this template MyInvois-compliant?

Not on its own — MyInvois requires a LHDN-issued UUID, a validation QR code, and submission through the MyInvois portal or API. This template gives you a fully correct pre-MyInvois invoice, which is what 99% of micros still issue today. When Phase 5 of the rollout hits you (the smallest-business phase, July 2026), upgrading is one tick-box in Kiira — no new template needed.

Is this actually free?

Yes. No account, no watermark. The footer says "made with Kiira" — sign up for the free plan and that comes off, plus you get invoice numbering and customer memory.

Is this MyInvois-compliant?

Not on its own — MyInvois requires LHDN validation, a UUID, and a QR from their system. This is a correct pre-MyInvois invoice, which covers 99% of micros today. When Phase 5 catches up, upgrading inside Kiira is one toggle.

Do I need a TIN and BRN on the invoice?

Yes. BRN (SSM business registration number) has been expected for years — buyers' accountants will ask for it. TIN is increasingly expected as MyInvois rolls out. The template has fields for both.

What SST rate should I charge?

6% for services generally, 8% for certain services (F&B, some services from March 2024). If you're under the RM 500K turnover threshold and not voluntarily SST-registered, you don't charge SST at all.

Can I add a DuitNow QR to the invoice?

The PDF generator lets you paste bank-transfer details and a QR image. A one-click "generate DuitNow QR for this invoice" flow is in the paid Kiira plan — the free DuitNow QR generator tool is on the way.

Where do Excel and Word templates live?

Shipping very soon. For now, the fastest route is the online generator — it already produces the proper PDF with formulas done correctly.
