About the role

Most Malaysian micro-business owners haven't heard of Kiira yet. That's the problem this role exists to solve — not through paid ads, but through the slower, higher-trust path of showing up in person.

You'll attend SMB events, trade shows, accountant meetups, and industry gatherings — talking to F&B operators, kedai runcit owners, marketplace sellers, and accountants about how they currently do their books, where it hurts, and whether Kiira fits.

This isn't a closer role. It's a 'light sales + genuine conversations' role. Most of what you do is listen, demo when it's welcome, and make sure every person you meet walks away with a clearer idea of who we are.

What you'll do

  • Represent Kiira at SMB events, expos, and meetups across the Klang Valley (and occasionally further afield).
  • Run short, honest live demos on a phone — no slide deck, no stage.
  • Have 1-on-1 conversations with business owners and accountants. Listen more than you pitch.
  • Capture what you hear — objections, confusions, wishlist items — and pass it back to product and marketing weekly.
  • Work with the social team to film short clips at events (founders talking, owners reacting to demos, before/after capture).
  • Build a small network of friendly accountants and SMB community organisers we can keep in touch with.
  • Help plan which events to attend — pick the ones where our customers actually show up, skip the noise.

What we look for

  • Good English, written and spoken. Bahasa Malaysia is close to required for this role; Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is a big plus.
  • Comfortable walking up to a stranger and starting a useful conversation. You don't have to be the loudest person in the room — you have to be the clearest.
  • You've done field sales, field marketing, community work, event activation, or similar — and you can tell us one story where it went well and one where it didn't.
  • You understand small Malaysian businesses — ideally because you've worked with one, in one, or in a family one.
  • You can drive, and are willing to travel across the Klang Valley (and sometimes outside it) on a flexible schedule including weekends when events demand it.
  • You're honest under pressure. If a prospect asks something you don't know, you say so and follow up — you don't make up an answer.

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with MDEC, SME Corp, accounting bodies, or Malaysian SMB communities.
  • Comfort on camera — short videos from events are a weekly deliverable.
  • A basic understanding of Malaysian tax and e-invoice (LHDN / MyInvois) — enough to not say anything wrong.

What we offer

  • Competitive Malaysian market pay, with travel + event expenses fully covered.
  • Work from home between events. Selangor public holidays.
  • A phone plan, a kit budget (including a decent phone for demos), and a co-working plan if you want one.
  • Direct line to the founder — you and he will sit down every Monday and plan the week.
  • A small team where the job you do today still matters in a year.

How to apply
